Jerome Davis ~ "More Than A Champion"

Picture
Jerome mounted his first bull at the early age of 11. Jerome's hard work and determination helped to take him to the top early in his bull riding career. One of Jerome's early accomplishments came as a teenager when he earned the title of the North Carolina State Rodeo Champion in 1990. Jerome's next big achievement came during his first year of college at Odessa, Texas when he became the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association's Bull Riding Champion. Jerome's talent, skill, and passion for the sport of bull riding made it inevitable that he would become a professional and he did just that at the ripe age of 20.

After just 3 years on tour Jerome's shining moment came in 1995 when he became the PRCA World Bull Riding Champion. After earning his World Championship title he went on to accomplish many more incredible feats in such a short amount of time. He is arguably the best bull rider of all time.

Jerome's magnificent career would be cut shorter than anyone would have ever imagined when tragedy struck on March 14, 1998. Jerome was riding in Fort Worth, Texas when he was knocked unconscious by the bull he was attempting to ride. After Jerome was knocked out he fell to the ground, hitting his head. The injury left him with paralysis from the chest down.

In 1992 Jerome along with the help of some of the greatest bull riders of all time established the PBR. Just six short years later Jerome found himself among the greatest of all time once again when he was awarded the coveted "Ring of Honor" by the PBR. Only 29 other cowboys share this honor. Jerome is a legend in the world of bull riding and an inspiration both inside and out of the arena. He is truly "More Than A Champion".
